Cookie policy.
The short version: we use a small number of cookies to make the product work, and one advertising cookie that only loads if you accept it. Decline and it never loads at all - everything else on AskAna works exactly the same either way.
What we store and why
- Session cookies - keep you logged in (set by our authentication provider, Supabase).
- Fair-use counters - small counters that keep free features fair, including the one-time first styling and dress-code decodes.
- Vote memory - remembers which decisions you've already voted on so tallies stay honest.
- Age check result - a yes/no flag from the photo-upload age check. Never your date of birth.
- Pinterest advertising cookie - set only if you tap accept on the cookie banner. It tells us which Pinterest posts brought people to AskAna. Pinterest is an advertising network and this cookie can follow you to other sites, which is exactly why we ask first and why declining costs you nothing here.
What we don't do
We never sell your data, and we set no advertising cookie unless you accept one. The only one we ask about is Pinterest's, described above. Payments are handled by Stripe on their own pages with their own cookies, under their policy.
Your choices
You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time - the product keeps working, though you'll be logged out. Clearing a cookie does not create another first-free styling because the server also checks account and one-way fair-use fingerprints. For everything about your data, see the privacy policy.
